BRUNNER NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent). Mrs. Cormack, of Wellington is the guest of Mrs. Coates Senr., of Tavlorville. Privates P. Walton, Smithers and Fensom have returned from the Middle East. , s Mr. and Mrs. Raynor of Southland havd been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Gutbcrtlet of Wallsend. They have now returned home.

Mr. M. Bennie is visiting relatives in Christchurch. Mrs. B. Smith, Dobson, has left to meet her husband, Fit. Lieut. B. Smith who landed in the Dorth Island this week from the Pacilic. Mr. H. Smith, who 1 has been visiting Dunedin, has returned. A debutantes ball recently at Taylorville drew a large attendance m spite of very inclement weather. There were eight debutantes presented to the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr. and Mrs. Gutbertlet), namely, Misses M. Cust, P. Rooney. A. Hacker, L. Walton, M. Coates, K. Robb and L. Cowan. Miss W. Coates very capably performed the duty of Matron of Honour. Thanks are due to Mrs. L. McGlashan for her able assistance and to Mr. S. Olderog for his support. Music was supplied by Miss Rene Jacobs’ Orchestra. The ball was most efficiently controlled by Mr. bid Smith as M.C. Extras were played by Mrs. Fensom.
