(Rec. 9.55.) LONDON, Sept 14. Representatives of the Irish branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution were summoned by President De Valera to Government. House, Dublin, where he requested that the word “royal” be dropped from the title. The representatives rejected the request, and told Mr. De Valera that they would not even discuss the matter, and they threatened to withdraw immediately all their lifeboats and equipment from Eire if Mr. De Valera attempted to force the issue.
