RE-ORGANISE IN BRITAIN

(Rec. 11.40) LONDON, Sept 7 The Bournemouth Conservative Association executive have unanimously chosen Mr. Brendan Bracken as the prospective candidate for a coming bye-election caused by Sir Leonard Lyle’s elevation to the Peerage. A series of Conservative committees, each including at least one exMinister, will be established by the time Parliament re-assembles, to advise and consult on Opposition policy of the House of Commons. Every Conservative members will have a place on one of the committees, says the “Daily Telegraph.” Defence, foreign affairs, imperial affairs, industry foreign trade, social service, education, and town and country planning, will be among many subjects occupying the committes. Members with specialised knowledge will, of course be askea to give instruction. Mr. Churchill will be chairman of a standing conference of the committees, which will meet next week when the Commons is sitting. It will consider current Parliamentary business, and examine general questions of policy. The meeting of the conference will provide a direct link between the party leadership and back-benchers, wnich will enable the Opposition to act with vigour and unity.
