Reply:— (1) No. (3) J. F. Metcalfe, of New South Wales, when touring New Zealand in 1934 with a team of Australian athletes, did 50 feet 1 inch in the hop, step, and jump. The best effort by a New Zealander was that of FI. K. Brainsby, of Auckland, who did 49 feet 9:1 inches in 1934—Ed.
