66 NOT ACCOUNTED FOR EFFORTS TO TRACE THEM WELLINGTON, June 20. The Acting-Prime Minister, Mr Nash, said to-night that every effort was being made by the New Zealand service authorities in the United Kingdom, and on the Continent to establish contact with a small number of New Zealand ex-prisoners ot war still unlocated, and to arrange their early repatriation. Mr Nash said at the present time there were three experienced contact othceis of the New Zealand services employed' on the Continent in the work of locating these men. The officers weie under instructions to remain there until they are able to report on the case of every blew Zealand piisonei of war still unaccounted for, and until by search and inquiry they were satisfied no further information could be obtained. Arrangements had been made with S.H.A.E.F. for the fullest facilities to be accorded these officers, to enable them to pursue . their inquiries effectively. In addition the names of all prisoners of war still unaccounted for have been promulgated to the authorities concerned, through the New Zealand reception group headquarters in the ’ United. Kingdom, with a request that anyone possessing any information concerning them should make it available to his commanding officer. According to the latest information received the number of New Zealand prisoners of war still unaccounted foi totals 66.
