KUMARA NOTES
[Qur Own Correspondent] Mr Bert Seebeck, former headmaster here, and now of the Whakatane school, visited Kpmara over the week-end. Mr and Mrs Josh. Pierson have received word that their son, Captain Charles Pierson, who was a prisoner of war in Germany, has reached England safe and well. Miss Mary Pool is visiting Nelson. Mrs R. Faulkner, of Nelson, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Studholme. Mr and Mrs Don Williamson, of Fareora, Timaru, are the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Goad. Mr Thos. Kepnedy, a former wellknown citizen and proprietor of the old Commercial Hotel, visited the town; recently after an absence of 27 years. Mrs A. Birss and Messrs T. Kelly and F. Mclntosh ar c visiting Christchurch. After Evensong on Sunday evening, the congregation of Holy.; Trinity Church farewelled Mr and. Mrs PI. A. McNabb, who have left to reside in Greymouth. Mr McNabb, had been a Church Warden for 20 years, and took an active part in church work at Aickens and Otira'. Rev. W. D. Harding expressed regret at the departure of the McNabb family from Kumara, ! where they had always been associated with social activity. He asked Mrs McNabb to accept an envelope from members of the congregation. Mr and Mrs McNabb suitably replied.
