(Rec 1110) SYDNEY, May 10. Mr H. C. Jones (president of the New Zealand Association of New South Wales) made a suggestion that, in recognition of Mr Churchill’s inspiration to the Empire, consideration should be given by the Australicin and New Zealand Governments to the presentation of a special decoration to be known as “The Southern Cross Star.” He said it would be a great occasion for the Commonwealth and the Dominion if Mr Churchill could visit the Pacific to receive such an award. FATAL ELECTRIC WIRE TO STOP THIEVES. (Rec. 11.40) SYDNEY, May 10. . A man who is alleged to have run an electric wire along his back fence to stop thieves has been committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter of a boy. He is Richard Hayter, aged 35, a carpenter. The boy was Ronald Willrins, aged seven, who was electrocuted on February 24. A police witness told the City, Coroner that Hayter had admitted putting up a wire carrying about 240 volts, running part of the way around his house. He claimed to have done this following robberies on his premises. Bail was allowed.
