(Rec. 6.30) LONDON, April 24 British and Indian infantry and armoured columns, continuing an advance south along the main railway, occupied Pyiumana, forty-eight miles south of Yamethin, (stated an Allied south-east Asia communique). Ten'miles south-west of Pyinmana, our forces captured Lewe, and four airfields. British forces are now more than 130 miles south of Mandalay, and about 180 miles from Rangoon.
