Mrs M. A. Dennis, and Private S. Dennis (Rangiora) arrived m Greymouth last evening from Nelson.

Mix and Mrs J. McCormack returnio Hokitika from Christchurch.

Mrs B. J. Groufsky, of Hokitika, returned yesterday from Christchurch.

Mr H. W. Hay, who has been attending the National Savings Conference in Wellington, returned last evening from Nelson.

The death has occurred of Mr Henry James Greenslade, a sed <0 years? Liberal member of Parliament for Waikato from 1905 to 1911.

Mr M. R. Aldridge, Chief Postmaster, who has been attending the National Savings Conference in Wellington, will return to Greymouth this evening.

A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late Mrs. H. G. Carter was passed at last evening s meeting of the Greymouth Borough Council.

A motion of condolence with Mr. H. G. Carter, a member of the West Coast Council of Primary Production, in the death of his wife was passed at yesterday’s meeting of the Council.

The funeral of the late Anne Dorothy Christie took place yesterday, and was largely attended. Services at St. Andrew’s Church, Ahaura, and the graveside were conducted by the Rev. Neil Clark.

Mr N. B. McCallum, agent for Dalgety and Co. in Greymouth, who will leave at about the end of the month for Blenheim, where he will represent the company in the northern part of the South Island, was farewelled yesterday by members of the West Coast Council of Primary Production. The chairman (Mr D. B. Jellie), saying that Mr McCallum had always been a helpful member of the Council, expressed regret at his departure, but congratulated him on his promotion. Mr McCallum thanked Mr Jellie for his remarks, and said that it had been a pleasure to work with the Council. He was only sorry that he had not been able to give the Council the help which he felt it deserved.
