HOKITIKA NOTES
LOur Own Correspondent] HOKITIKA, April 10. Miss TucketL of Westport, has been appointed Matron of the Hokitika Maternity Home, and will take over her duties at an early date. It is understood that sixteen applications have been received for the position of engineer for the Westland Hospital Board. An appointment will be made on Monday evening. Mr R. Palmer is at present in charge of the engineering and Mr R. Day of general maintenance. Mr S'. Moore presided at a meeting of the Westland Rugby Football SubUnion, the following members being also present:. Messrs R. James, M. Davidson, T. B. Rich, C. Schroder, E. Olson, J. Sare and C. L. Harper. The President and Messrs James, Davidson, Shaw and Heenan were deputed to attend a conference . at Greymouth. Advice was received from Greymouth of Wataroa Club’s intention to participate in the competition. It was decided to suggest that Wataroa endeavour instead to have a local competition, and that local clubs would occasionally play matches with Wataroa. St. Marys Club’s application to use maroon as its colour, was granted. Ruatapu Club advised that their ground would not be completed for six weeks, and in the meantime their home ground would be Hokitika. If was resolved to have No. 2. ground put in order. The age limit of the. third grade division was set as under 19 years. It was resolved to reserve the right to grade players at any time, up to senior grade. It was decided that a meeting of referees and all wnlling to assist as referees be held at Mclntosh’s Club Rooms on April 11 at 7 r»- m -
