AMATEUR ATHLETICS

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. Mr. T. P. Ryan presided at a' well attended meeting of the Greymouth Amateur /Athletic Club held last evening. Mr. E. B. E. Taylor, the club’s representative in Christchurch, wrote that about 25 athletes from Canterbury would be competing at Greymouth on Saturday, including Dominion and Canterbury champions. It was decided to tender the visitors and club members a complimentary dinner at the Albion Hotel on Saturday evening. Arrangements for the heats in the sprint events were left to Mr. J. Bluett, and programmes to Messrs R. Fitzgerald and B. Guerin. The secretary reported that arrangements for the Greymouth club’s visit to Timaru at Easter were well in han.d, and 32 members intended travelling. It was decided to discontinue the evening meetings at Victoria Park for the season.
