Receipts, plus credit balances, amounting to £58,984, and. payments to £52,564, leaving a credit balance of £6 420 were shown in the statement’of accounts of the Westport Borough Council this week by the Town Clerk, Mr. P. Arrears amounted to £Jbu and exceeded the budget figure by £l5O Mr. Morgan reported that the drive for outstanding rates was achieving good results and he is to issue a full report on the Councils financial position on April -6. Cr. C. Howard, chairman of the finance committee, told Councillors that he fully expects the Council’s credit balance to exceed £7,000 at the end of the financial year.
