OPOSSUM MENACE

IN MANY PARTS OF N.Z. P.A. WELLINGTON, February 28. The opinion that drastic measures are now required to deal with the opossum nuisance in many 'parts of New Zealand was expressed by the Minister of Internal Affairs. Hon. W. E. Parry, to-day, at the Dominion conference of Acclimatisation Societies. Farmers, orchardists, and people with gardens in proximity to bush areas are all protesting about the damage caused by opossums, said the Minister. It was now’ imperative to face un to this problem.
