ROSS NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent] Mrs Peebles presided over a large attendance of members at the February meeting of the Ross Women’s Institute. The members unanimously nominated Mrs Peebles for the Presidency of the South Westland Federatiqn. The “Wandering Shilling”, which was donated by Mrs Adamson, was won by Mrs F. Heveldt. Mrs Allan Thomson was the winner of the best bloom competition. During the evening presentations were made to Mesdames Goad and F. Heveldt, who aie leaving the district, and also to Mis Higgins, an English bride, who has recently, arrived in Ross. Several games were enjoyed, while the evening concluded with supper served by the hostesses, Misses Dawn Busch and Gwen Phillips.
