BRITISH INTEREST. POSITION OF JEWS. (Rec. 11.40). LONDON, February 20. A British -United Press correspondent in'Cairo stated: To the leading Arab Heads of States, who now are meeting in Egypt, the British Government submitted proposals for an all-round settlement of Middle East problems. It is reported they were submitted to King Farouk of Egypt, and Ibu Sand, of Arabia. The proposals are said to comprise these points: (1) An l Arab Federation would receive joint recognition from Britain and America. (2) Iraq, Syria, Transjordan and Palestine, together with the Arab districts of Nablus and Djenin, should be a Jewish State, which would be federated with Lebanon, into a’ Jewish and Christian State, and this Slate would be free, it it wished, to join a general Arab Federation.
Britain proposed that the Arab areas mentioned “should be linked up to form one Arab State, ruled by Emir Abdulla, of Transjordan, "while the remainder of Palestine should be a Jewish State, which would also be federated if it desired.
