CANADIAN DEMONSTRATIONS. VANCOUVER, November 28. French Canadian draftees at Terrace (British Columbia) demonstrated for three days against the Government £)rder-ln-Council for the conscription of 16,000 Home Service men for overseas. The draftees were dubbed mutineers by an Army spokesman, who said their pay allowances would be stopped while they refused to take orders from their -officers. The Terrace demonstration was the largest of six in British Columbia duirng the weekThe spokesman estimated that 1,500 participated in the parade and sitdown strike last night. He added that not more than 25 per cent, of the troops in the areas were involved.” Boiled down, these men just don’t want to go overseas.” Yesterday Section 7 -of the Kings Rules and Regulations were read to all defence men, emphasising that life imprisonment is the penalty for any soldier convicted of inciting mutiny and rioting, or participating in a similar disturbance.
