HOKITIKA NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent]. HOKITIKA, November 28. It. is stated there is every likeliliood of benzine being transported here by tank waggon. This has been requested by the Automobile Association. It will mean some price reduction. The Gael will bring benzine here for. places in South Westland and other localities, more than 30 miles distant from Hokitika. The owneis of the motorship Gael, have been disturbed over her nonarrival here from Wellington. She left Wellington last Wednesday and was due here Jast Friday. This morning, skippers of coastal vessels arriving at Greymouth and Westport, reported seeing no sign of the Gael. Marine Department authorities at Wellington were then contacted, and the vessel was reported as having passed Farewell Spit at 11 o’clock on Monday morning, although identification waft '■ not definitely established. It is presumed she has been sheltering at Totaranui. Should she arrive to-morrow she will have taken seven days for the voyage.
