BUSINESS OF SESSION. TO TAKE FOUR WEEKS. F.A.. WELLINGTON, Novmeber 22. A considerable number of questions were placed on the Order Paper when the House of Representatives met today before the members settled down to a debate on the Earthquake and War Damage Bill. The Prime Minister made an announcement regarding measures which the Government proposes to .introduce during the 'remainder of the session, which, he said, would probably occupy members until December 15. The Prime Minister stated that the business proposed to be taken during the remainder of the session would include, in addition to the measures already before the House, the Agricultural Emergency Regulations Confirmation Bill, the Emergency Reguations Amendment Bill, the Engineers’ Registration Amendment Bill, the Finance Bill, the Housing Improvement and Slum Reclamation Bill, the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill, the Land Laws Amendment Bill, the Statutes Amendment Bill, and the Wool Industry Bill. The latter part of the evening sitting was devoted to consideration of the committee' stages of the Clerks of Works Bill. A number of noints were raised by members, the principal one being that care should be taken not to exclude men because of service with forces overseas. - ■ Hon. P. C. Webb, who is in charge of the Bill, and the Prime Minister, both agreed that this point should be investigated before the Bill was nut through the Legislative Council. The committee stages were completed and the Bill was passed.
