AUSTRALIA’S VICTORY LOAN. (Rec. 9.15.) SYDNEY, October 11. Progress in Australia’s second Victory Loan of £160,000.000 is below expectations, said the Federal Treasurer, Mr. Chifley. In new 1 cash, about sixty-two millions has been received towards the minimum objective, of £ll2l millions, while only .about £23 millions of £471 millions of securities in two maturing loans have so far been converted into the new loan. T'hus only £B5 millions of the £l6O millions required is yet in sight.
