OPOSSUM SKINS
. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Greymouth, have received the following telegram from their Dunedin branch, regarding their sale of opossum skins on Monday;—Seventy thousand skins offered. Demand was limited. Best blues - and greys: par to. Is 6d better than October" last year. Other, descriptions: 6d to 2s dd lower on average, greatest decline was on seconds, thirds, and damaged skins. "The total offering at the sale was 153.000 skins. Only a few. exporters bought. Blues sold to 21s; greys to 15s lid; greys (pale) to 9s 9d; greys (rusty) to 9s 9d; red necks to 9s lid; browns (red) to 7s lid; browns (dark) to 7s 7d; blacks to 7s 6d; slates to 5s 4d.
The fall in prices may be quoted as follows: —Red browns, 7d to 2s 6d lower; dark browns, 3d to 2s 5d lower; black, 7d to Is 5d lower; red necks, 7d to 2s lower; greys (rustys), 3d to Is 8d lower; greys (pale), lid to Is 8d lower; greys (seconds and thirds), 6d to Is 9d lower; greyU, super and firsts), sold on a par; blues (thirds), Is lower; blues (super firsts and seconds), Is 6d dearer; slates, 3d to Is 8d lower
