fOur Own Correspondent!; Inthe final basketball matches of the season at Hokitika, St. Alary’s 8 beat Hospital 4 in the final of the .knock-out series. St. .Mary’s also won .the John- McCormack trophy. The school at Waiho Gorge which has been closed down for some years, has been, re-opened. There are nine pupils oft the register, and Miss N. McGrath has been appointed teacher. , The September bogey match played at Mphinapua links was won by Mrs J. Andrews (3 down). Other scores were: Miss Adamson 2 down, Miss R. Anderson 5 down. The C. grade bogey was won by Mrs C. (2 down), other scores being: I j A £S ?• .Eastgate 4 down, Miss N. I Ell's G down and Miss A. Davies 9 rdown. C grade medal scores were 1 as. .follows: , Miss G. Stephens Miss B. Ellis 11G—30—86, miss P. Eastgate 100—8—92, Miss J. vvormington 114—16—98. Reductions in handicap ;■ Miss G. Stephens to 20, Mrs C. Lewis to 29. At the conclusion to the matches the president, Miss J.
