JOCKEY SUSPENDED There were two inquiries during the day. No action was taken in connection with one concerning the tuning of Blanket, but in the other following incidents during the concluding stages of the Wharangi Hack Handicap, K. Chote, rider of Leybourne was suspended for six months, and A. G. Waddell, rider of the winner, Dileas, was cautioned. Chore was charged with crossing over too soon in front of Kincrop and Hula Chief, at the straight entrance, and then going over alongside Dileas, where Waddell, thinking there would be a collision and that his mount would be squeezed against the rails, put out a hand to ward Chote oti Chote, considef*ing Waddell had grabbed his knee, hit him over the arm with his whip. The pay out on the last race was held up till a quarter to seven. The totalisator carried £41,186. compared with £48,332 on the same course last year.
