COAL MINER KILLED

WHANGAREI, Sept. 22. Struck and buried by a fall of coal when working about twenty chains underground in the Kamo mine this morning, a miner died before admission to the Whangarei Hospital. He was Henry John Dobson, 57, married, of Whangarei. He was working with another miner in extracting pillars of coal when he was almost completely buried by a fall of two tons. Dobson was dug out alive but unconscious and was dead on arrival at the hospital.
