PARACHUTE FAILS
AIRMAN KILLED AT AUCKLAND. P.A. WELLINGTON, September 22 Flying-Officer Philip Robert Coliox Clark, of Auckland, lost his life in an aircraft accident at approximately 9.25 a.m. to-day. He was the pilot of a fighter plane which, while climbing shortly after taking off from the Ohakea Air Force Station, w r as seen to become out of control. The pilot abandoned the aircraft, but his height wa's not sufficient to allow his parachute to open. His father is Mr B. E. Clark, of Kohimarama, Auckland.
