BRITAIN AND ARGENTINE

NO BREAK LIKELY. (Rec. 11.10). LONDON, Sept. 20. Britain has made it clear that she requires. Argentine meat to feed her armed forces and her civilians, both now, and in connection with the European reconstruction, because the Dominions cannot nearly meet her requirements. Britain, accordingly, will not subscribe to a complete break with Argentina, and, although not renewing her meat agreement for a year, has decided to continue it on a day-to-day basis Differences thus exist in the British and American policy. Americans, particularly Senator Hull, condemn the Argentine Government as pro-Fascist. The British Foreign Office agrees with America in disliking the Argentine regime, but sees it more as a palace revolution than as a real threat.
