The Pope 9 s Appeal for the Poles (Rec. 9.40) LONDON, Sept. 12 Pope Pius XII has sent a message to the Polish President. The Pope said that the sufferings of the Poles have made a particularly . profound impression on him during the past four years, in wthich he has repeatedly raised his voice to recall the world lb their basic principles which ought to determine the conduct of the war, says the 'Vatican radio. The Pope added: “Everbody knows that we have done everything in our power to defend the oppressed and to obtain for them the protection or law.”
