WESTLAND FIGURES Westland has now reached 21 per cent, of its objective in the Victory Loan, investments Yesterday bringing the total to £96,013. The following are the returns from individual offices: —Hokitika £4.2U0 Runanga £260. Greymouth £212, Ihamatua £l5O, Reefton £l3O, Hari Hari £5O, Blackball £32, Franz Josef £4O, Otira £24, Brunnerton £l7, Jackson Bay £l5, Barrytown £5, Ross £2, Wai-j uta £l, Total: £5,138. An appeal is made to local business firms to emulate an effort made yesterday by the staff of Woolwortns N.Z. Ltd., Greymouth branch, who, in answer to a request from the management, raised £ll2 above their ordinary weekly National Savings contribution. This, is a fine effort deserving of every praise. WESTLAND FARMERS Advice has been received by t’he Westland District Loan ' Committee from the Reserve Bank that all wool retention monies taken out in Government stock by farmers in the Westland district will be credited Towards the district quota of the Victory Loan, whereas, if taken out in bonds, it is not possible for the district to receive the benefit of the investment. Should farmers desire to avail themselves of this oportunity ot taking Victory Loan stock in place ot bonds, it will be necessary for tne loan applications for this stock to reach the Marketing Department by Friday morning next, September lb, otherwise bonds will be issued.

PA. WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. The amount subscribed to the Victory Loan to-day was £745,745, making the total to date £10,485.574. Objective percentages obtained to date are as follows: Southland district, 51 per cent; Auckland, 47; Taranaki, 34; Otago, 34; Marlborough, 30; Gis-borne-East Coast, 26; Wanganui 25; North Otago, 25; Manawatu, 25; Hawke’s Bay, 23; Wellington, 23; Nelson, 22; Waikato-Kin o- Country., 21; Northland, 21: Westland, 21; South Canterbury, 21; Buller, 20; Wairarapa, 20; Canterbury, 19; ThamesBay, of Plenty, 18. _____
