Wellington beat Canterbury) 19-10 in a spectacular Rugby League match at Wellington ’to-day. Canterbury dominated the early play, almost monopolising the ball from the scrums and threatening to overrun the home team. However the defence was stubborn. Solomon was a brilliantly safe fullback. Miller, a Wellington nominee for the North- Island team, played a great game and made eleven openings. Andrews was the most active forward, smashing his way? through for two tries.
Davison, the Canterbury winger, was always very dangerous, but the Wellington backs gave a great display in the second spell and were too sound.
