N.Z. MAILS LOST. WELLINGTON, June 30. The Postmaster-General (Mr. Webb) stated to-day, that advice was just to hand of the loss, through enemy action, of two small New Zealand mails for Mombasa (British East Africa)., The mails, which left here in September last, contained postings for Uganda, Kenya, Tanganyika and Zanzibar made towards the end of August and in the first fortnight of September. There were no parcels in'the lost mails. PARCELS FOR OVERSEAS. WELLINGTON, June 30. The Postmaster-General (Mr. Webb) announces that the restriction imposed on forwarding cakes weighing over 21b in gift parcels to Britain has been modified. There is now no objection to posting parcels containing more than 21b provided the total weight of any parcel, including the packing, does not exceed 51b. The existing restriction of 21b in respect of any ( other cla'ss of foodstuffs contained in gift parcels still applies. Parcels weighing in excess of 51b are liable to seizure. No parcels should be posted at more frequent intervals than once a month.
