Mr J. Russell left for Wellinjton last evening. Mr. C. H. Benney, Under-Secre ary of Mines, is visiting Greymouth. Mr. William Ragg of the Treasury Department, Suva, has been visiting the West Coast. Pt. Hon. P. Fraser has arrived at Montreal from England. He was to address the House of Commons I at Ottawa on June 30. Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, Mrs Fraser and party, hav'e arrived in Canada on their way back to New Zealand. The funeral of Mrs Clara Sarah Kitchingham took place privately at Karoro Cemetery : yesterday, morning Rev. Paul'Kirkham conducted the services. The funeral of Mrs i.Margardt Beattie Wright, of Runanga, took place yesterday at Karoro Cehletery. The services were conducted by Pastor A. J'. Templeton. ■■ Mr Donald Nelson, chairman of the United States Production ißpard is in hospital suffering from pneumonia, states a Washington cablegram. Mr Bert Noy, who has been on a visit to his daughter, Mrs L. S. Robertson, Shakespeare Street, leaves on Tuesday on return to Port Chalmers. Mr W. Clayton, of Ahaura, has been nominated by the yVest Coast Farmers’ Union for election as dele- . gate from the West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough districts on the ■ Meat Producers’ Board. The general manager of Railways, Mr J'. Sawers, who arrived yesterday from Westport, with Hon. R. Sempl£, left last evening fpr Wellington. He was accompanied by Mr J A. Mitchell, secretary to the Minister of Railways. Mr G. D. Smart, stationmaster, at Greymouth, who is retir.Vg on superannuation will complete his duties next Saturday. Fendins the arrival of his successor, Mr A. W. I. Miller, stationmaster at Timaru, Mr F. M. Dawson, traffic inspector at Greymouth, will act as stationmaster.
