Dated at Greymouth the 22nd day of June, 1944. Signature: H. McLuskie. HANNAN & SEDDON, Solicitors, Greymouth. NATIONAL RADIO APPEAL FOR PATRIOTIC FUNDS. Greymouth Patriotic Committee.

THE war still goes on—New ZeaA land still has thousands of men and women overseas with the fighting services or as prisoners-of-war. Patriotic funds still go overseas in hundreds of thousands of pounds and more and more money is required to build up the Welfare Fund to afford emergency relief to discharged servicemen and women for the next 30 or 40 years. In 1941 and 1943 the Committee held or participated in Queen Carnivals to raise - funds; in 1940 and 1942 direct giving (apart from the Patriotic: shop) provided the main part of the funds; each year there has been a door to door collection. This year the Committee is relying largely on its annual collection which is being made in conjunction with the National Radio Appeal TO-MORROW (Saturday). The Greymouth collection is now being made and much' time will be saved to the collectors if donors MAKE UP THEIR MINDS NOW as to what they will contribute. Many people are better off this year than last and contributions should be greater accordingly. If desired the contributions will be put on the air to-morrow evening. New Zealand soil has not suffered any of the horrors of war but our men and women overseas face them ''ear by year. Those men and women have not failed us—let us not fail ■ them, F. A.
