NEWSREELS SHOWN

TO N.Z. TROOPS IN PACIFIC.

BEFORE RELEASE IN N.Z.

(Official N.Z.E.F. War Correspondent) NEW CALEDONIA, June 19.

New Zealand troops now resting! in New Caledonia are able-to see British and Australian newsreels before they are released in New Zaland. Arrangements made recently result in newsreels by two film companies coming to New Caledonia as soon as they reach the distribution office.

The first showing of two of these newsreels were received with enthusiasm by the troops who seldom see a newspaper that is not some weeks old, At this show, they saw the American Memorial Dav observance in Australia, less than a fortnight after the ceremony took place, and all other news, similarly up-to-date. Troops will also see current New Zealand news in up-to-the-minute releases.
