Mr Justice Finlay left yesterday afternoon for Westport.

Mr R. D. Cully, of the Railways Department, Greymouth leaves on July 1, on transfer to Christchurch.

Mr and Mrs G. Ruston, of Masterton, who have been visiting Mrs Ruston, of 46 Turumaha St., Greymouth, have left by plane on return.

Guests at Revington’s Hotel include the following: Miss G. M. Spratt, Messrs J. B. Spratt (Invercargill), W. Morris (Reefton), C. Begar (Dunedin), B. S. Marshall (Wellington), M. H. E. Robinson, R. Stuart and Miss M. Cooper (Christchurch).

Guests at the Albion Hotel include Mr and Mrs Lowrie (Wellington), Messrs N. Dubois, T. W. Duck, C. G. McCutcheon (Auckland), P. J. O’Regan (Reefton), C. E. Wrighton (Nelson), K. G. Archer, T. H. Lee, P. J Kelly, F. Coleman, P. D. Scrimgeour (Christchurch), C. C. Holliss (Lyttelton), A. C. Jamieson (Roa), V. Holt (Otira), W. C. Chapman (Palmerston North).

On Tuesday evening last Mrs A. Ryan entertained at her residence, Revell Street, Hokitika, more than 100 guests in honour of the coming of age of her daughter, Mary. A jolly ’ time was spent by all present with musical items, community singing, games and dancing. Miss Rene J’acobs was at the piano and Mr J. Ryan played a number of violin solos. At the buffet supper the health of the guest of the evening was ably proposed by Mr W. Stopforth, who, on behalf of Miss Ryan’s many friends, extended felicitations on the* 5 occasion of her 21st birthday, and expressed good wishes for the future. Miss Ryan’s uncle, Mr W. Boyd, returned thanks on her behalf. The customary birthday cake, lit with 21 candles, held pride of place on the tables, which were beautifully decorated with greenery and seasonal blooms.
