tOur Our Corre.spondentJ WESTPORT, May 19. Mr. A. Rout, of Nelson, representing the Ikaroa Maori Land Board, is visiting Westport. Mr. Rowse, district rehabilitation officer in Nelson, is visiting Westport. The death occurred at the Buller District Hospital yesterday, of Mr. Thomas Gerald Fraser, of Mokihinui, a native of Scotland, aged 67. He was a Boer War veteran. WESTPORT, May 21. Mrs. H. Donneson of Wellington Is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. Collins, Cobden Street. Mr. Lovatt, Assistant-District Public Works Engineer, has left on return to Christchurch. The Bishop of Nelson, Rt. Rev. P. W. Stevenson, has arrived in Westport with Mrs. Stevenson. Mr. H. V. Palmer has returned from the South Island Farmers’ Union conference at Timaru. Mrs. G. Jones of Millerton, has returned after a visit to Greymouth. Miss O. Christie of Granity has returned from Nelson lakes district. The Bullei’ L.R.C. Publicity Committee is making sterling efforts on . behalf of Labour candidates in next' Saturday’s elections. The public is being given every opportunity to know the Labour candidates. No policy of wild spending is intended, the policy of Labour local body members being the development of district potentialities, within the limits of careful financing.
