NEED OF MIGRANTS

Dominion Settlement Assn.

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE TO MR.

FRASER.

P.A. WELLINGTON, May 16. The Chairman of the Dominion Settlement Association, Mr. Leigh Hunt, sent the following message to the Prime Minister (Rt. Hpn. P. Fraser) “As apparently British adult immigrants are not available, the Association earnestly urges you, wh le in England, to lay the foundation of a post-war plan to obtain a substantial number of United Kingdom and European war orphans. Hundreds of thousands can be placed- here for adoption and/or reared at the Fairbridge Farm Schools. Unless New Zealand moves quickly, a highly valuable and unique source of securing youthful immigrants will be lost.”
