RUNANGA ELECTIONS
Labour Candidates At a meeting of the Runanga branch of the New Zealand Labour Party on Monday, at which Mr S. Morris resided over a good attendance, it was decided, after some discussion on the forthcoming local body elections to endorse the candidates. including those nominated by the State Miners’ Union:— Runanga Borough Council: Mrs W. Wright, ‘Mrs M. E. Timlin (Miners Union), Messrs J. J. Devine, R. Nelson. C. Barrow. _ Grey Hospital Board: Mr F. Oakley. Greymouth Harbour Board: Mr JJ. Devine (Miners’ Union). Grey Power Board: Mr .Tames Piner" (Miners’ Union). Appreciation was expresses by members generally of the a ßitvuk of the Miners’ Union in instructing its Executive to meet the ,^ xec F t ‘ v . e ' of the Branch to discuss the nomi-. nations. A lengthy discussion took place on child vocational guidance. It being decided to seek further m formation. A. vote or thanks to .he chair concluded the meeting.
