Mr. V. K. Freeman of Runanga, has left to join the Fleet Air Arm. Gunner C. Campbell, W.A.A.C Runanga arrived yesterday on leave.

Dr. I C. Maclntyre arrived ' from Christchurch by yesterday’s express.

Sergeant E. A. Bateup returned to Nelson by yesterday morning’s plane.

Sergeant-Gunner R. Roche arrived b v yesterday’s express from Christchurch.

Miss M. R. Baigent and Miss G Owen returned to Nelson by air yesterday morning.

Mr. R. J. Haslam left yesterday niorning by air on return to* Wellington.

Mr. F. G. Clark, District Traffic Manager of Railways, Christchurch, arrived by last evening’s express.

Mr. P. H. Morey, district engineer, Railways Department arrived from Christchurch yesterday.

Mr. and Mrs Parker have taken, over the Railway Hotel, Greymouth, from Mr. and Mrs. J. Slack, who left yesterday for Christchurch.

Private John O’Brien of Woolston, who was recently invalided home from the Middle East, was formerly a well-known resident of Stillwater. He has now been admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital.

A send off was at Hokitika on Saturday evening tendered by a numerous gathering to Mr. Robert Collins Master of the Kanieri dredge, who yesterday left for Queensland, where he will take charge of a tin dredge for his company.

Dale, of Woodstock, who have been invalided home from the Middle East, arrived in Greymouth, yesterday afternoon, being met and welcomed at the railway station by representatives of the Borough, the Patriotic, and Red Cross Societies, and the R.S.A.
