TAus. & N.Z. Press Assn.l (Rec. 7.30) LONDON, April 29. A Yugoslav communique stated: — In Croatia, in Kordn, enemy forces have been routed in fighting between Karlovac an f ] Plaski. In Banlja province, enemy forces were defeated in the Petrinj a sector, and forced to withdraw. Fighting has continued in the Vrchovina area. In Slovenia violent fighting is in progress on the road to Trieste and Fiume. A Dalmatian island, Jlmet, was captured after 142 Germans had been killed. Booty taken on the island included trench mortars, machine-guns. tommy-guns ana rifles. Korcula Island was also captured, and prisoners taken, including members of the' 118th German Division. Booty included four guns, anti-tank guns, and wagons loaded with ammunition.
ALLIED ATTACK IN BALKANS ANTICIPATED BY ENEMY. (Rec 9 50) LONDON, April 29. At’Berne a report received from Berlin that the German High Command believes an Allied , otten sive in the Balkans is imminent. Large British and American _ troop concentrations were observed in tne Near St "nd. the Mediterranean Fleet was cruising off the EieeK coast. Other German reports stated British paratroops had ,]omed ntos forces in Yugoslavia.
