REEFTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent) REEFTON, April 28.
Mr. and Mrs. F. Wright and Mrs. Newman of Nelson were recent visitors to Reefton. Miss Campbell, of Greymouth, has been looking up old friends in the district. Mrs. W. Pennington and children, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Fras-er-Smith, has left for Dunedin. Mrs. McLaughlin and son, who have been visiting relatives, will return to Darfield to-morrow. The biennial meeting of householders, for the purpose of electing school committees, will be held in the schoolrooms at Reefton, Black’s Point, and Cronadun on Monday night. ' .
The Reefton_ Tennis Club closes its season on Sunday when a tournament will be held, play commencing at 2 p.m. Friends of members are cordially invited to participate. The Rugby football season will open to-morrow with two friendly games. In the Junior Waratah will meet A.T.C., and Cronadun Seniors will play Waratah Seniors at the racecourse.
A further area of about two acres fronting Davis and Herald Sts. has been acquired for building of 'State houses in Reefton. The buildings on the property are being demolished in preparation for the erection of the new homes.
