N.Z. SERVICES RUGBY

LONDON, April 25. The New Zealand Services football team has concluded a successful season, losing only two matches of 12. The High Commissioner (Mr. Jordan), who takes a great interest in football, presented four cups during the season —for the North Island v. South, for the New Zealand Air Force v. New Zealand Navy, for New Zealand v. the Australian Air Force, and for Pakehas v. Maoris. New Zealand beat the Australians once and was also beaten bv them. It also defeated South Africa and drew with the Welsh Guards. A good sprinkling of New Zealanders was always selected for the Dominions’ matches against the English and Welsh.fifteens. Flight Lieutenant E. Grant (Gisborne) played for Scotland once and Flight Ser geant I. H. Dustin (Palmerston North) played for England three times.

The New Zealanders are now preparing for the cricket season. Their captain and organiser will be the welknown Flight Lieutenant Ken James, who has made a name for himself in England.
