PLANE CRASHES

GREYMOUTH AIRMAN INJURED. P.A. WHANGAREI, April 2. During formation flying, this morning, a training plane crashed on the lower slopes of Maungatapere Mountain. The machine was’ wrecked. Pilot Sergeant Sparrow, of Greymouth, suffered a fracture of the right femur and head injuries. Aircraftman Pfeffer escaped with abrasions. Both were remoyed to hospital where their conditoin is satisfactory. [Mrs. B. Sparrow who resides in William Street, Greymouth, left by special plane -foi’ Whangarei, yesterday. She was accompanied by her daughter, and her mother, Mrs. J. E. Dixon.]
