BRITISH STRIKERS
CALLED UP FOR FORCES LONDON, March 31. Shipvard apprentices are on strike on the Tyne, on the Clyde and m Yorkshire. They are being called up for military service. The first batch of notices 'has been posted, ordering the men to undergo medical examinations on April 3. The Labour Ministry .Controller for North-east England said that apprentices were deferred from the call-uo until the age of twenty only to finish serving their term, but'will not be deferred if thev give up their jobs.
