POST-WAR EDUCATION

CONFERENCE CALLED. WELLINGTON, Feb. 26. A conference on education by representatives of all interested organisations will be held in August, stated the Minister of Education (Hon. H. G R Ma'son). Topics which are to be discussed together with suggestions which may be submitted by interested bodies at the Ministers invitation are. Further provision of pre-school facilities for children under 5. the provision of more leisure time and activities for the adolescent, and adult education. The Minister will take the opportunity, to review achievements in the field of education over the past few years and broach on plans for the future. The conference then will discuss matters relating to policy and the plans and other suggestions generally. The invitations to organisations to send representatives will be issued as soon as the Jist can be prepared, and all schemes and reports are to be handed in by May 31.
