NEW PRESIDENT
FOR ARGENTINA Three Ministers Resign (Received Feb. 25, 10.20.) MONTEVIDEO, Feb. 24. Three key members of the Argentine Government, comnrising the Minister of War and Vice-President, Senor Farrell; the Minister of the Interior, General Perlinger; and the Secretary for Labour, and Undersecretary for .War, Colonel Peron. have resigned. Senor Farrell and General Perlinger were full-ranking members of the Cabinet. Colonel Peron had an important influence, because of his leadership of the G.O.U. (the Argentine organisation), and th 6 Army Colonels’ clique. No reasons have been given for the resignations. All three ex-Ministers are noted for their strong Nationalistic sentiments. It is reported that General Gilbert and Colonel Gonzales, whose resignations were forced by the G.0.U., will now fill the War and Interior posts respectively. (Received Feb. 25, 12.30.) BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 25. • It has officially been announced that General Ramirez has resigned the Argentine Presidency, because of ill-health. He- is succeeded by Senor Farrell, who earlier resigned from another Cabinet office.
