NOT YET OUT OF WAR. ~ LONDON, Feb. 23. An American press correspondent at Stockholm says: M. Paasikivi, with his wife, has left Stockholm as all indications point to the continued lack of any substantial progress towards getting Finland out of the war. M. Pa'asikivi still admantly refused to discuss the negotiations and gave the impression of a man whose mission has not been too successful. Commenting on the reports from Stockholm that M. Paasikiyi has returned to Helsinki, indicating that peace efforts have collapsed, the United States Secretary of State (Mr. Stettinus) said the United States was still hopeful of getting Finland out of the war. He refused to elaborate on his statement. The President .of the Finnish Trade Unions, Mr. Vuori, arrived at Stockholm and contacted with Swedish politicians and trade union officials, reports Reuter’s Stockholm correspondent. Mr. Vuori last visited Stockholm last August, when he made no seql-et of his opinion that Finland should get out of the war, and that the majority of Finnish workers shared that opinion. According to the Helsinki correspondent of “Svenska Dagbladet,” the Finnish Foreign Affairs Committee met yesterday to hear a report from the Foreign Minister, Doctor Henrik Ramsay. The return of Paasikiyi has heightened peace interest and a 1 feeling of expectancy reigns in the capital.
