LONDON RAIDS
LONDON, Feb. 22.
It was a quieter night for Londoners last night. They heard only light gunfire. One raider- got through to an outer suburb anq dropped its bombs indiscriminately. Bombs were also dropped at scattered points in south-east England. London had a brief alert early on Mondav morning but no incidents have been reported. Bombs were drowned in south-east England, causing little damage.
Another Raid
ON TUESDAY NIGHT.
(Rec. 1 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 23. German bombers on Tuesday made another sharp attack on London. Many incendiary and high explosive bombs were dropped, and there are a number of casualties reported. At least six rn’ders were shot down. A large number qf incendiaries , were dropped over a wide area. They started many fires, but (the Hres were quickly brought under control. One of London’s oldest music halls, the London market, and a school and . a church were badly damaged. A film company’s premises were destroyed. High explosive bombs fell in a' numbe j residential districts. A church and hostel were hit. in one district, sheering in a doorway was Killed. Others were brought out dead from the wreckage.
