Revenue collected by the Customs Department in Christchurch during •'he financial year 1943-41 is so far considerably in excess of the amount collected for the corresponding period in the previous year. The detailed figures for January and for the 10 months of the financial year, with the corresponding figures for last year in parenthesis, are as follows:— January:—Customs £44,364 (£54,17V); beer £22 628 (£19,848); sales tax £45,165 (£43,727). war expenses £132.005 (£132,095). P.A AUCKLAND, Jan. 31. Revenue collected by the Customs Department in January amounted to £616 204, a decrease of £1,748. compared with the same month last year.
