Wins British By-election GOVERNMENT LOSES SEAT. [Aust. & N.Z. Press Assn.] (Rec. 11.10.) LONDON, Jan. 10. The New Commonwealth Political Party ha s gained its second success at the polls. This was when Lieu-/ tenant H. Lawson won the Skipton bye-election by a narrow majorityover the Conservative Party’s candidate. There was an Independent candidate. He forfeited his deposit. This bye-election resulted from tne death of Mr. Rickards, a Conservative, who had a majoritv of 5059 over a Labour candidate at last election.’
