GENERAL MACARTHUR
Staying Put (Rc. 11.10) SYDNEY, Dec. 23. “There is no ’ foundation whatsoever for the statements that General MacArthur expects to go to Washington in the near future for conferences.” declared the spokesman at the South-west Pacific Headquarters to-day. His statement was in reply to American reports that General MacArthur was likely to return to Washington in :March, to resign his commission, and to contest the United States Presidential election.
