RECOUNT SOUGHT

INVERCARGILL LICENSING POLL. INVERCARGILL, Dec. 23. Application was made to-day to the Magistrate by six electors of Invercargill in conformity with the Licensing Act, for a recount of votes in the local option poll held on September 25, on the grounds that the count of votes in the issue' was incorrect. A deposit of £lO, accompanied the application, which has been lodged within the statutory period of seven days. The Act states that a Magistrate shall, as soon as practicable after receiving the application and deposit, cause a' recount to be made and give, at least two days’ notice of the time and place of the recount.
